Electrode position could be adjusted with a small electrically operated winch or a pneumatic cylinder.
2.
As the electrode position is also constant relative to the weld, the risk of porosity is also reduced, to the level of a skilled welder.
3.
When electrodes are placed on both sides of the head, this is known as bilateral ECT . In bifrontal ECT, an uncommon variation, the electrode position is somewhere between bilateral and unilateral.
4.
The letters F, T, C, P and O stand for occipital lobes, respectively . ( Note that there exists no central lobe; the " C " letter is used only for identification purposes . ) Even numbers ( 2, 4, 6, 8 ) refer to electrode positions on the right hemisphere, whereas odd numbers ( 1, 3, 5, 7 ) refer to those on the left hemisphere.
